Hello all:
Please finish the introduction to the paper you started in class based on the following prompt that I gave you in class:
"After the end of the Revolutionary War, it was clear that the Articles of Confederation was not an effective way forward for the United States of America to govern. During the Constitutional Convention, two proposals to replace the Articles were suggested: the Virginia Plan and the New Jersey plan. Neither of these plans satisfied the whole convention completely. In an essay, describe the strengths and weaknesses of all the political plans (Articles, VA and NJ Plan), explaining why the Connecticut Plan was such a good compromise."
The introduction should have a thesis statement - or a sentence outlining your main argument - as well as place the paper in the correct historical context (i.e. tell me at what point in the story of the American Revolution are we?).
You should also revise your other paragraphs based on mine and your peer's comments. You should also write a conclusion that summarizes the paper.
Remember: Read, think about what you read, write about what you think.
And these are all drafts. You will have a chance to revise this paper as a whole after I have read them and commented on them over the weekend.
Thanks,
Mr. T-S
